THE MASON CLASSICAL MUSIC SERIES
Our Vision and Purpose
The Mason Chamber Music Festival was established to provide Central Texas Hill Country residents and visitors with access and exposure to professional-level performances of chamber music in Mason, Texas.
The Mason Chamber Music Festival operates independently as an autonomous entity under the supervision of the Festival committee and legally under the umbrella of the Odeon Preservation Association. Our funding comes solely from sponsors, patrons, grants, and ticket sales for the Annual Gala performance.
Bringing high-caliber artists for an unforgettable weekend of chamber music, the Festival allows Mason and the Central Texas Hill Country visitors to revel in the magic of works by classical composers while enjoying the unique atmosphere and charm of magical Mason!
With the creation of the Mason String Academy, the MCMF has achieved one of its most important long-term goals: establishing a string instrument teaching program in Mason for students of all ages. It began with the 1st Annual Mason String Academy Summer Workshop in June of 2025 at the historic Seaquist House. Students of all ages, many with instruments provided by the Academy, met for an intensive three-day workshop all about playing the violin or viola. Sessions included both group classes, and individual instruction. The highlight of the week was the concert Academy faculty and students performed for family and friends at the end of the workshop. Academy students then performed Christmas Carols along with members of the Artisan String Quartet at the December 2025, “500 Years of Christmas Music” fundraiser concert.
We plan to nurture and grow the Academy’s presence in Mason in the coming years. We are very confident we can do just that with the help and support of our Patrons, educational grants, and music lovers everywhere who value education and the opportunity for growth the Mason String Academy will provide.
We are grateful to The Odeon Theater for providing us with the venue for the Annual Gala. Built on Mason’s Courthouse Square in 1928, it is the longest continually operating theater in west Texas and in a National Historic Register District. The Odeon is live performance venue and movie theater year-round.
We invite all who delight in chamber music and those experiencing it for the first time to attend our Annual Mason Chamber Music Festival and support the Arts in the beautiful Central Texas Hill Country!
